Anyone who has ever worked in a company shouldn't be surprised by how many companies fail to plan, follow poor practices, and only fix things when they break publicly at great expense to themselves. Companies resist change just like you or I do; only they are harder to change.

So many ideas and tons of information cross my path, and I've been recording it digitally and in notebooks for years. However, I never had a system for using it. I fixed this a couple of weeks ago, and it's been massively productive without adding more time to my day.

I started a project today that scares me. Lots of stuff I’ll need to learn and figure out. I almost talked myself out of even trying.

The worst part of following video tutorials or book exercises was getting stuck and having no one to help you get unstuck. I'd hit a wall and full stop until I could find some help on SO, Reddit, or a Discord/Slack server. Sometimes I’d just give up.

I'm working on a tutoring skill for Claude using a framework that I use all the time when teaching. When I run into an issue, we go back and fine-tune the skill some more with this new feedback. Just keeps getting better.

I’m not saying it can’t happen; I am saying they are trying to sell you something. It did get a lot of engagement, though
