Plouffe is right that placing the blame those in power is essential - and it may win an election or two. But Democrats are going to have to deal forthrightly and systemically with the big economic issues to establish their historic support among working voters.

That means passing laws to allow workers to reasonably form unions - something Dems have failed for decades to do. That means admitting the total failure of Biden’s immigration policies. That means prosecuting powerful corporations and their executives when they commit crimes.
