Ss played a game of ‘roll, say and keep’ to practice their number sense skills. They had to roll 4 die to create a 4 digit number, say the number out loud (without saying ‘and’) & if they said it correctly they got a point. Such a fun partner/ group game🎲🥰

To review the place value topic of our number sense unit, the grade 4’s rotated through different math centres. They played roll it, number puzzles, build with base tens and number riddle match. It was such a fun way to work together and make math fun🥰➕✖️

Played this game again this year with my grade 4’s and they loved it! Such a fun way to practice comparing numbers🃏Ss had to build the bigger number by strategically placing their number cards in the appropriate place value column based on its value🥰

Today Ss played rounding bingo to work on rounding to the nearest 10, 100 & 1000. I was able to find a website to make 4 sets of different bingo cards with a variety of numbers on them. They were so engaged the entire time and had so much fun!🥰🎉

After going over a variety of different addition & subtraction strategies, Ss tried them out themselves. I love using this task for different math concepts. Each group got a different equation and had to answer it using 4 different strategies. Some even came up with their own!🥰

I was so impressed with my class during our 4 digit addition & subtraction lesson/ activity. I thought that this would be a challenging task for them, but they surprised me and persevered & did amazing! The conversations and team work was great to hear/ see🥰

What an amazing experience it was having a veteran come into the classroom to talk about Remembrance Day & his time in the military. The grade 4s had so many questions and really enjoyed this new learning time❤️🪖🎖️

During learning commons, Ss participated in a STEM challenge where they built snowflakes out of marshmallows and toothpicks. They turned out so cute & the grade 4s loved it!❄️🤍

The grade 4s had a surprise visit today from some bunnies!🐰 What a special experience for one of my students to be able to bring in the bunnies that him and his family breed and all of their babies❤️

Grade 4s got to paint a ceramic tile which we turned into coasters for Mother’s Day💐 Look how beautiful they turned out!🥰 I added felt pads to the bottom for protection and to give it some height😊

The grade 4’s went on a rock hunt today! To start our first lesson in our new rocks & minerals unit, we went outside and gathered rocks. Then Ss sorted them into categories of their choice and answered questions about it. They’re so excited for the exploration in this unit🪨☺️

The grade 4’s had a BLAST on our field trip today!🚌 At Scanlon Creek, Ss used their knowledge from our habitats unit to play some fun games! They got to be predators, prey, different animals from the food chain & use a compass & map to locate things. What a fun trip!🌲☺️ Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board

Ss got to be miners today during our rocks & minerals unit!🪨💎 Ss used a chocolate chip cookie as their rock and had to mine out the chocolate chip minerals using a toothpick. They had to be very careful not to break the mineral in the process! They had a blast!😊

Every year I do a class picnic where myself and the students bring in snacks for everyone and we enjoy some time at the park. What a fun, and hot, afternoon it was! Ss had a lot of fun playing pickle ball, soccer, running around & eating some tasty treats!🧺🛝🍪🤍

Today the grades 2-4 went on a field trip to the farm as part of the grd 3 plants science unit🚜🌾🪴Although we got caught in a lot of rain, Ss still had so much fun on a tractor ride, feeding animals and picking their pumpkins🧡

Amazing work today done by my grade 3/4s!! During our math group work, Ss collaborated & came up with a pattern rule and showed it on a number like and table of values. They were very clear, organized and neat with their work. I am so proud of them!🎉🥳

On Good Friday we reflect about the selfless act that Jesus did and died on the cross for us. Let us remember this and follow in His footsteps to be selfless too✝️🌿
