Mom brag: Look at my child’s artwork! It got picked for an Art Show! Ms. Proffitt is doing amazing things at Birdneck ES I love seeing their new interests flourish.
Continuing our field day in the classroom with stations that the students can participate in. First up: Sudoku! Look at these kids work together to get numbers 1-9 in the correct spaces. I love the team work, communication, and critical thinking!! Birdneck ES
I anticipate that keeping student attention the last week of school is going to be close to impossible. I’m planning on implanting some Classroom Olympic Games to keep enthusiasm at an all time high! What other games should I add? Birdneck ES
End-of-the-year Science plans include an Escape Room where students have to collaborate and use their critical thinking skills to solve the riddles to “escape”. I’ve never heard so much enriching vocabulary and respectful teamwork! #ProudTeacher Birdneck ES
#ProudTeacherMoment : my class earned 92 Golden Eagle Eggs for their SOARing behavior throughout the school year! These were given by other teachers only; a rule my class set at the beginning of the year. I’m so proud of them! Birdneck ES
Having my students do end-of-year trivia about me resulted in some hilarious answers. Q: “What is Mrs. Rathbone’s hidden talent? Student 1: “breaking bones” Q: “What is something Mrs. Rathbone is scared of?” Student 2: “5th graders” Birdneck ES
