This is the letter we sent to OSSTF Peel Teachers, OSSTF D19 President, Kelly Bevan, Harvey Bischof. We have not heard a response. #MyOSSTF would respond to the concerns of their members in a timely fashion. We look forward to hearing from you. #BlackLivesMatter-Peel canva.com/design/DAEHLMC…

Hear me out, @Peelschools and OSSTF Peel Teachers, if excessed teachers awaiting our online assignments were allowed to prepare from home instead of sitting at desks in our home schools every day, that would be hundreds fewer disposable masks and other PPE used per day… (1/2)

Hi Peel District School Board Just to clarify, you are indicating via tweets that online students will hear from teachers by the end of today. It's 1:45pm on Friday and I have yet to receive my timetable/classes. It is unlikely that all students will hear today.

Stephen Lecce Hi Minister Lecce. What are we teachers supposed to say to our students when they ask why this limitation doesn’t apply to our classrooms? Trustee Nokha Dakroub🍁, I see that you liked this tweet, so maybe you can offer some insight as well?

My 7-years-retired teacher father got an email from the OCT asking him to consider returning to the classroom. He said he’d only consider doing it as a big favour to a friend who asked but he ‘doesn’t like anyone that much’

A few thoughts (rant really) regarding the Brightspace decision & removal of Google Classroom from our online spaces. I've kept out of it because I just thought the decision would be reversed as sanity & logic prevailed. Apparently I was wrong...here's some thoughts [a thread]...

I would love to know who is being centred in this hybrid model. Who is being benefited by this? Who does this work for? #onted #OntEdOnline

So I don’t need another email with PDF links about mental health. Just stop. Educators are telling you what they need. If you cared about the mental health of the people serving the community & want to envelope us in a veil of confidence, DO SOMETHING. #mentalhealth #equity

Telling teachers that they knew what they were getting in to or that working extreme hours is part of the job is gaslighting. It shouldn't be an acceptable part of the job to be worked to a breaking point continuously.

Reminder: sending your employees memos on mindfulness meditation, gratitude journaling, and self-care might help them cope with minor stressors in their lives, but it will NOT fix unsafe workplaces or workplace harassment/bullying. Do the work.

PabloNeruda I feel that the vast majority of workplaces would benefit more from managers simply asking employees “what is blocking you right now? what can I do to help?” rather than assuming everyone needs the same thing and just email blasting everyone meditation sites.

I feel that the idea that classes must continue even on snow days contributes to this ‘work is the most important thing’ mentality, and I don’t think that it’s healthy, physically or mentally. #OntEd #wellness

I can’t even imagine what would happen if teachers and school staffs only worked their contractual hours, only fulfilled their contractual duties and only used the resources their schools provided.
