Hi Peel District School Board Just to clarify, you are indicating via tweets that online students will hear from teachers by the end of today. It's 1:45pm on Friday and I have yet to receive my timetable/classes. It is unlikely that all students will hear today.

My 7-years-retired teacher father got an email from the OCT asking him to consider returning to the classroom. He said he’d only consider doing it as a big favour to a friend who asked but he ‘doesn’t like anyone that much’

Telling teachers that they knew what they were getting in to or that working extreme hours is part of the job is gaslighting. It shouldn't be an acceptable part of the job to be worked to a breaking point continuously.

Reminder: sending your employees memos on mindfulness meditation, gratitude journaling, and self-care might help them cope with minor stressors in their lives, but it will NOT fix unsafe workplaces or workplace harassment/bullying. Do the work.

PabloNeruda I feel that the vast majority of workplaces would benefit more from managers simply asking employees “what is blocking you right now? what can I do to help?” rather than assuming everyone needs the same thing and just email blasting everyone meditation sites.

I feel that the idea that classes must continue even on snow days contributes to this ‘work is the most important thing’ mentality, and I don’t think that it’s healthy, physically or mentally. #OntEd #wellness

I can’t even imagine what would happen if teachers and school staffs only worked their contractual hours, only fulfilled their contractual duties and only used the resources their schools provided.
