Currently travelling to #Battle where i'm presenting at the 1066 Community Rail Network meeting about Sight Loss Councils and travelling by train as a #Blind and #PartiallySighted person. 🧑🦯🚅 thanks to #PassengerAssist and on board staff for supporting me today. ☺️
Lovely evening out in #Brighton with the #EastSussex Sight Loss Councils for our Christmas social. It's been a really productive year for us and I look forward to seeing what we can achieve in 2024.
This morning members from the #EastSussex Sight Loss Councils & I gave our ideas about St Ann’s Well Gardens in #Hove with Brighton & Hove City Council & St Ann's Well Gardens. We discussed lighting, navigation, signage, safety and how to make the park more #accessible to #blind and #PartiallySighted people.
I'm in #Brighton With the #EastSussex Sight Loss Councils this afternoon reviewing the position of a potential Beryl hub to check it doesn't impact on #Blind and #PartiallySighted people. Thanks to Brighton & Hove City Council for engaging with us on this. 👍👨🦯🚲
It was a small social gathering with the WestSussex Sight Loss Councils volunteers this evening in #Worthing. We chatted about our first half year and plans for 2024 as well as sharing funny stories about our vision impairments. 👨🦯🎄🎅
Disappointed with Compass Travel tonight. Bus no. 32 drove straight past whilst waiting at my bus stop. #Blind and #PartiallySighted people struggle to see a bus coming to flag them down. Sight Loss Councils are campaigning for request stops to be banned so buses stop if anyone’s waiting.
Just attended the #ArunValley @communityrail Network meeting at Gatwick Airport, representing #WestSussex Sight Loss Councils. We got to see and hear about the Gatwick Historic Timeline Exhibition by The Redhill Reigate Society. Really interesting! reigatesociety.org.uk/about/railway_…
"What really stood out was the lived experience that was shared with us by you all. It’s definitely raised our awareness and understanding of sight loss.” This was the response after West Sussex Sight Loss Councils delivered a Vision Impairment Awareness session at Brighton Hospital. 👨🦯

A good morning delivering a VI awareness session to the Research Team at University Hospitals Sussex The attendees were really engaged, interested in listening to stories of lived experience from #Blind & #PartiallySighted people, followed by lots of relevant questions. #WestSussex Sight Loss Councils
Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting Nick & Wayne from CuckmereBuses in #Berwick #EastSussex. We did an accessibility audit on their new minibus and will be returning shortly to provide a vision impairment awareness session to their volunteer drivers. Sight Loss Councils
