Not paying for kids Private School education who were never going to be a part of the public school system saves tax payers money. This is just flat out a lie.

In my issue area, the other side talks a big game about “parents rights”. What about the right of parents to see their kids arrive safely home every day? What about kids’ rights to live in freedom from fear?

We are deeply mournful over the tragic loss of life in the Apalachee High School shooting in Georgia. This heart-wrenching incident stresses the urgent need for real gun reform. It is time to demand action from those in power. #Georgia

UPDATE: The shooter is believed to be a 14-year-old boy. Georgia has no minimum age to purchase rifles, doesn’t require parents to securely store guns, and doesn’t have background checks on all gun sales. cnn.com/2024/09/04/us/…

Pro-voucher influencers have long used the right-wing platforms from Tenet Media to attack public schools and hawk school voucher schemes.

It’s always the Koch, DeVos and Bradley groups that get angry when anyone calls them a right-wing billionaire-backed network instead of just “parents.” But “parents” didn’t put school vouchers into 2 of the first 3 paragraphs of Project 2025’s education chapter.

“Their views are extremely unpopular and out of touch with everyday parents who just want their children to receive a good education without the misguided intrusion of adults in the community who are not stakeholders in the public schools their children attend.”

This book is on my wishlist. I’m looking forward to this webinar so we can learn how best to protect our public schools and ensure they’re well funded.

The whole Carolina Amesty scandal just further shows the lack of accountability there is for Private Schools. If it hadn’t been for the investigations run by Orlando Sentinel, this fraud would never have been brought to light.
