Yesterday United Nations Pakistan - اقوام متحدہ پاکستان Resident Coordinator Mohamed Yahya @momalindi met with members of the private sector, the backbone of #Karachi’s economy, & start up creators to discuss how the United Nations can best support a dynamic economic growth that benefits all.

Was exciting and energising meeting the Pakistani startup community in #Karachi. Huge potential for 🇵🇰 to produce startup #unicorns. United Nations Pakistan - اقوام متحدہ پاکستان will work with the startup ecosystem to advance the #SDGs.

Met the Chief Minister of #Sindh H.E Murad Ali Shah. We discussed how the Monsoon season is impacting the region. As a region severely impacted by climate change, I committed United Nations Pakistan - اقوام متحدہ پاکستان ‘s continued support for recovery & community adaptation to climate variability.

🔵United Nations Pakistan - اقوام متحدہ پاکستان Resident Coordinator Mo Yahya visited Sindh to see the impactful work being done by Islamic Relief Pakistan. He also engaged with communities, learning firsthand about the challenges they face, including early child marriage and water and sanitation issues.

Child marriage denies children their right to protection from abuse & exploitation, & takes away their right to reach their full potential. I was encouraged to see the work of Islamic Relief Pakistan, UNICEF Pakistan & community leaders in Sujawal to reverse harmful practices.

#Makli is one of the largest necropolis in the world. Kings, queens, governors, saints, & scholars are buried in monuments, which are decorated with glazed tiles. #Pakistan is country with incredible heritage sites.
