The Ministry of Justice and Labour Relations, in partnership with the International Labour Organization, today held an Awareness Event on Employment Impact Assessment to explore how employment outcomes can be integrated into national policies for inclusive and sustainable job creation.

ED Audrin Mathe met with Ms Milka Mungunda of the Social Security Commission to discuss service delivery and the shift toward digital services. The SSC reported strong progress in moving services online and shared updates on projects that strengthen social protection.

A World Bank team is in Namibia on a scoping mission to support youth employment and strengthen social protection. In a meeting with DED Aune Mudjanima, they outlined plans to engage key institutions, assess current interventions and develop a roadmap to guide national strategies

The Namibia Agricultural Labour Forum met with ED Audrin Mathe to discuss the rollout of the National Minimum Wage for the Agriculture Sector. The wage is set at N$10 per hour, rising to N$14 in 2026 and N$18 in 2027 to support better livelihoods.

Gendev Fishing Company employees submitted a petition to the Ministry today over alleged unfair labour practices. DED Aune Mudjanima assured them the Ministry will investigate matters and take informed action. The Namibia Seaman and Allied Workers Union led the demonstration.
