Great visit at Crosby Middle School today! They’ve done great things for their MLs! It all started with intentional scheduling to ensure all MLs get the support that they need- from newcomers to LTELs. I’m also loving the new ELD room 🤩 Crosby really is #ThePlacetoBe 👏🏻

Full Bucket Friday! The day started with our monthly OML Community Partnership Meeting and then I got to spend time with our ML Counselors from our high-density middle and high schools. #BetterTogether #JCPSML

Stopped by Hudson Middle today and saw current 7th grade ELA teacher Mr. Brown using The Modern Classrooms Project with EL Education as a way to reach ALL students and provide the support they need to be successful- including our MLs! Way to go, Mr. Brown! 👏🏻

Thanks Isabel Maremont Lake for inviting me out to grade-level team meetings at Kammerer Middle School to discuss ways we can support our MLs 👏🏻 Schools are on a roll this week when it comes to providing teachers with professional learning to support our fastest growing population!

Had a great day working with K-12 APs as we considered how different aspects of culture/identity might influence MLs behavior & how that’s showing up in their schools. Excited to see what culturally responsive systems/practices they put in place btw now and the next time we meet!

We spent the morning with the brilliant JCPS Leaders sharing strategies for developing systems to leverage home language to support ELD. #JCPSML

Had another great PLC meeting today with our High Density middle and high school ML counselors. Kudos to our School Support Specialist, Tovah Mitchell, for listening to their needs and organizing a great day of learning to support their work! #JCPSML

Had a great day co-presenting EPD at @MeyzeekMiddle w/ our MS ML instructional lead, Ben Brown! Ts sorted WIDA can-do descriptors and learned about scaffolds to support their MLs! Thanks to Meyzeek’s AIC for recognizing teachers’ needs and inviting us out to support! #JCPSML
