First day teaching year 2 was interesting 👀 I know the start of year is always tricky for children, but boy is it a big difference after three years in UKS2! There was a lot of poking, tapping and crying that I am not used to 🙈😂

Day 18 - we’re really focussing on improving reading fluency. Children have loved devising a code and using their coloured pens to highlight their texts as we echo read. Lots of previously unconfident children volunteering to read aloud.

Kids “sneaking” a note to each other today. When I took it off them in phonics they begged me to give it back. Having been in year 5 for the last three years, I prepared myself. Welcome to Year 2 Hannah 😂
