It really does feel like opposition to YIMBYism comes down to a lack of object permanence. When a neighborhood is deciding whether to allow a new building, the prospective residents of that building don't need to be considered. They disappear when you're not looking at them.

If Arizona Corporation Commission had gotten serious about properly investigating Kate Korman’s shut off death & bringing APS in to answer ?’s as they did after Ms. Pullman’s shut off death, we wouldn’t see additional seniors being put in these potentially deadly situations. azfamily.com/2025/08/02/aps…
