Minister for Defence Mr Chan Chun Sing hosted the annual MINDEF Volunteers’ Dinner yesterday to recognise the contributions, support and commitment of 405 MINDEF volunteers serving on 38 MINDEF boards and committees 👏

The SAF participated in Ex Talisman Sabre (XTS) in 🇦🇺 for the first time from 13 to 28 Jul, with two HIMARS, two CH-47F Chinook helicopters and more than 100 personnel. XTS is a biennial multinational exercise co-hosted by Defence Australia and U.S. Indo-Pacific Command.

Senior Minister of State for Defence Mr Zaqy M officiated at the 29th Singapore Armed Forces Senior Military Expert Appointment Ceremony at Temasek Club this evening, where a total of 202 service personnel were appointed as Senior Military Experts 🫡👏

Minister for Defence Mr Chan Chun Sing visited the Maritime Security Task Force at Tuas Naval Base this morning, where he observed the RSN’s operations and training at RSS Daring, sailed on RSS Indomitable, and visited the Maritime Security and Response Vessel Protector.

The RSN and the Indian Navy conducted the annual Singapore-India Maritime Bilateral Exercise (SIMBEX) from 28 Jul - 1 Aug. This year’s exercise comprised a shore phase held at Changi Naval Base, followed by a sea phase held in the southern reaches of South China Sea.

The Singapore Army & the Indian Army ADG PI - INDIAN ARMY participated in the 14th Exercise Bold Kurukshetra, a bilateral armour exercise held from 28 Jul to 3 Aug at Jodhpur Cantonment, 🇮🇳. Both armies participated in a bilateral command post exercise & engaged in professional exchanges.

Minister for Defence Mr Chan Chun Sing visited the SAF Basic Military Training Centre at Pulau Tekong this afternoon. There, he was briefed on how training has been enhanced through the adoption of data-driven, science-based approaches.

Minister for Defence Mr Chan Chun Sing met with Indonesian Defence Minister Lieutenant General Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin today, as part of his introductory visit to 🇮🇩. He also reviewed a Guard of Honour contingent and delivered a lecture at the National Resilience Institute.

Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Navy, Admiral Jirapol Wongwit, was conferred Singapore's prestigious military award – the Pingat Jasa Gemilang (Tentera) or Meritorious Service Medal (Military). He was presented the award by Defence Minister Chan Chun Sing this morning 👏
