1/3 Last night I experienced overt racism for one of the first times in my adult life.
I was on the train home and a group of guys (looked coasty) started calling me Mohamed, I ignored them.
The not-so fun part of being a founder:
- working late on a Friday night
- alone in the co-working space
The fun part of being a founder:
- blasting Red Hot Chilli Peppers on max volume
- shitposting on twitter
One thing became apparent after meeting other consumer founders at A16Z's happy hour: winning in consumer = your brand having the most impressions with your ICP
great builders don't ask ppl what they want, but rather what outcome they need and then use today's tech to outcompete legacy tech.
asking ppl in 1800s what they want: faster horses -> no invention
asking ppl in 1800s what outcome: faster travel -> leads to invention of cars
