Stop blaming the poor This country isn’t poorer because disabled people get £100 a week or asylum seekers get £49 a wk It’s poorer because the very rich dodge £35 billion a year — and £100 billion a year flows into British enabled tax havens We’re not broke We’re being robbed

Freddie Mercury came to the UK as a kid because people that looked like him were being killed back home in Zanzibar. In the UK, he formed Queen. In the UK, he became a global icon. But he didn’t become British by getting famous. He became British by building a life here.

Just five random picks from the Reform manifesto… - Reject the World Health Organisation. - Stop Universal Credit. - Scrap the Equality Act. - Change the definition of hate crime. - Lower Housing priority for disabled people. Lovely bunch of open minded folk aren’t they?

To be fair, Reform voters are a pretty amazing, selfless bunch, for their leader they are prepared to give up their human rights, their worker's rights, accept lower pensions, higher food and energy prices, pay more for less local services etc etc. I'm afraid I can't do that.

Nigel Farage just voted to water down workers' rights. We were voting on the Employment Rights Bill - the biggest strengthening of workers’ rights in years. But of course Farage sided with the bosses. Again.

He voted against all aspects of the Employment Rights Bill yesterday Not one of his MPs did Interesting for a man who rarely appears to vote (36% record)

The best way to honour those who fought in world war two would be to rebuild the NHS and the welfare state they voted in huge numbers to bring about

During lockdown, it wasn't billionaires who kept the country going. They sat back and made profit. The workers kept the country going. We will be just fine if the billionaires don't want to stay.

First time today that I was able to get to mass for twelve days. It was stepping back into reality. Blessed, praised, hallowed and adored be Jesus Christ on his throne of glory and in the most holy Sacrament of the Altar #thankful

Trial by jury is a cornerstone of our democracy and an essential safeguard against authoritarianism. It is truly frightening that such a fundamental freedom is now under attack. Once rights are lost, they are not easy to win back. We must resist this with all we’ve got.
