1. If it has any meaning at all, Parliamentary Privilege must mean the right to out info like this 2. Even if it doesn’t, if you’re an MP you should be prepared to go to jail for doing what is right. If you’re not, you shouldn’t be an MP

Gone so far outside the range of normal, they’ve become fascinating to look at in a weird way Agree with the original tweet, but if they were their own species which was — supposed to look like that — not at all violent — about 5–8 inches They’d be pretty neat

This is definitely a thing for certain areas of human activity. The stemcel loves to solve equations, talk about models, etc. But you see some TV chefs who just seem to have lost their ability to enjoy 99.999% of existing food.

South Koreans looking at the fruits of the Western intellectual tradition and inventing their current system is the academic equivalent of South Seas islanders building mock airstrips to make the American aircraft return

Was about to ask why they bother covering these things up seen as they always get out anyway, then realised the obvious bias that we only know about the stories that do get out What other horrors are yet to be revealed?

Has anyone else noticed a linguistic version of the midwit meme, where ostensibly poorer speakers of English are easier to understand than more middling abilities? “Where toilet please?” vs “Hello I was wondering if you could tell me where to be looking…”

Apart from the ‘u got ur rod loicence?’ memes, this is a good example of the law being so nebulous you can never be sure you’re not breaking it Which seems incredibly corrosive to public morality
