COs have to review all photos and messages before they come in as a “security measure”. However, COs have been sharing incarcerated people’s family photos with other officers. COs huddle around their desks looking at peoples personal messages & family photos & ridiculing them.

One of the most beautiful and thoughtful pieces I've read about the trans panic -- and how it impacts the lives of trans people. Christopher Mathias is probably the best extremism reporter in America I think. Just read this. huffpost.com/entry/trans-so…

Morning, Tymofiy. As a Black American reporter who has covered uprisings (“riots”) in the US and lives in Ukraine covering the war, I think I can help. We're supposed to meet in person (hope you can make time this week), but your tweet requires a thoughtful response, my friend🧵

The problem with Florida's social studies standards isn't the one sentence that has everyone in an uproar. It's that the standards barely mention the enslaved as property (the word chattel does not appear at all). The bedrock defense of slavery was the property right.

The Fault in Our Stars has been removed from the YA section in the suburbs of Indianapolis and is now considered a "book for adults." This is ludicrous. It is about teenagers and I wrote it for teenagers. Teenagers are not harmed by reading TFIOS. This is such an embarrassment

Hoping to include qualitative research in #lieschristianparentsbelieve project, but I would love to see quantitative research on this & other factors for overall well being, relationship to faith, etc. Anecdotally, what I 👀in church spaces: it had *enormous* impact. 1/3

Border walls don’t just block wildlife migrations — they block the flow of water, the dispersal of seeds & other natural processes. The border is 2,000 miles long, most of it rugged, wild & beautiful. This is no place place for destructive, useless, wildlife-killing barriers.

I woke up at 4:30 am. I was dreaming about yelling at Thomas Jefferson that slavery was systemized raping and pillaging.

I started a book YouTube channel called Time Travel Reads. I'm reading American history from the colonial period to the present. I'm in the colonial period. I'd love to incorporate scholars' monographs.
