Today marks 34 years since the Americans with Disabilities Act was signed into law. As a member of the Assembly Committee on People with Disabilities, I will always fight for fair representation and accessibility for all.

I stopped by the Disability Pride Festival this afternoon at Canalside in Buffalo. As we celebrate the 34th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, this was a great opportunity to learn about the abundant resources and services in our community.

Thanks to everyone who attended our Family Health Fair in Amherst this morning! Assemblymember Karen McMahon and I love hosting this great event. Shout out to the Senior Center for hosting, as well as our sponsor Kaleida Health and all our vendors who participated.

On National Purple Heart Day we honor and remember the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces who were wounded or killed on the battlefield. We thank them for their service, and are indebted to them for their sacrifice.

Lastly, yesterday included a stop in Buffalo with Assemblymember Karen McMahon where we announced $1.5 million for Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village and discussed future community needs in Amherst with North Amherst Fire Company.

The NY Public Service will be hosting an in-person public statement hearing on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at the Buffalo Central Library Auditorium (1 Lafayette Square, Buffalo, NY 14203) to solicit input and comments about National Grid rate increases.
