Crikey! I have worked in bogs for two decades and have never seen a bog landslide. A peatslide? But this is what happens in the north when permafrost thaw causes the surface layer to destabilize, causing similar slides.

It has been such a treat having the opportunity to do field work and get my hands on some equipment! Grateful for McMaster SEES field courses. Had to snag a pic of one of my team members in action for the 4BB3 Field Techniques in Hydrology course 📏

Hopkins tract bare root planting - The site includes small, restored wetland features and pit and mound forest restoration. So excited to take part in another amazing project with Conservation Halton. Thanks to Retired Account - Bay Area Restoration Council for always getting me out and volunteering!

Monday was a beautiful day for a goat lab with the Bio 3JJ3 crew. I had a blast monitoring what these goats were eating throughout the McMaster Forest Nature Preserve. They loved the buckthorn and birdsfoot trefoil - some invasives at our site. 🤗🐐
