frustrating to see this Nieman Lab piece on Civil. The ideas behind it are inspired and important, but somehow technology issues have taken center stage. Blockchain services could become very useful to journalism but only as an invisible protocol. And tokens should be a snap.

...and for making it seem easy. Ideas like this can swirl around and appear on lists and sit there undone forever because too many people get involved. The Guardian deserves a lot of credit for making these little but important projects just happen. bravo.

Among the many remarkable numbers and accomplishments in today's Brave 1.0 announcement is the fact that the company has paid out $7M to partners including news orgs and other publishers. It's a new ecosystem forming. Network effects appear to be kicking in.

I don't know of another personalized news reader like this that actually doesn't know and is unable to know anything about the sources you prefer or the stories you've read. Brave Today's protections are quite robust as BrendanEich notes. Would love to know of anything similar.
