Collingwood is my only team. Nothing beats live music. Mostly write things for a living. Immortalised in Vic Hansard. He/him.

the genie is out of the bottle in re: #AusOpen crowds staying quiet between first and second serves. Give the fans the opportunity to whistle and woo a fault in exchange for silence during a point. I’ve moved past the “quiet at all times” especially with the party court thing.

Nerdy nomenclature pick-up: after baffling us all with “Round 1” being the second round of this year’s men’s AFL, the league has done away with rounds entirely for the AFLW, instead going down the EPL path of referring to “weeks”. All good fun for media and programmers I’m sure.

You still have almost two months to let Carlton know that they must wear a clash jumper in this game. For everyone’s sake.

For such a prestigious honour, it'd be nice if the website documenting the members of the Australian Football Hall of Fame was more than just one long Word document

Talk about 'time capsule' stuff. This 2013 AFLPA CD compilation hits every footy player music stereotype. More than a fifth of the CD is either Coldplay or Swedish House Mafia. Big ups to Watson and Riewoldt for choosing Metronomy and The National though. I'm impressed.

Clear as mud. More than half of these tackles have what might be deemed 'excessive force' and it was by pure luck that players' heads weren't hitting the turf. Seriously, they are centimetres off the ground in cases. This video does nothing but confuse players and fans further

Absolutely in Olympic mode for the next fortnight now. Can't get enough of watching old highlights. I reckon this might be Dennis Cometti's finest (non-football) moment. youtube.com/watch?v=dQQt0e…

The mock All-Australian team selector on the AFL website borders on the ridiculous. Can't even pick Jeremy Cameron... who kicked 58 goals and finished second in the Coleman... why even limit it at all?!

Really enjoyable piece of long-form (at least for AFL.com.au) journalism here. Green is up there in my fave player stakes. And as someone who really doesn’t watch much football outside of their own team anymore, most of that admiration is built around personality.

See how this is totally distinguishable despite both teams wearing royal blue shorts? Reminder me again why the AFL persist with white shorts to distinguish teams in the men’s league if we’ve had a season of concrete proof that the jumper colour is the most important thing.

4 years later and nothing's changed with AFL On Demand. The website is still in 'beta' according to the AFL 😆 Anything in the pipeline for this potential gold mine that's otherwise gathering dust?
