The latest Senate bill would slow electricity supply growth at exactly the moment we need it to accelerate. Few states would feel the impact more than North Carolina. The bill would raise NC electricity prices by ~20% over the next 5 years.

NEW -- JOSH STEIN, the Democratic governor of North Carolina, has sent a letter to the N.C. delegation. The letter urges congress to "pause" on the OBBB because of the "immediate and long-term threats it poses to the health and well-being of North Carolinians and the economic

.Lori Lodes of Climate Power: “Republicans voted to make energy more expensive in the middle of record demand, blackouts & a climate crisis they’re making worse. Gutting cheaper, cleaner, faster energy solutions & betting against American workers—just to stay in Trump’s good graces.”

There wil be electricity shortages because solar is the only thing that’s ready quickly and they are trying to kill it - there’s a backlog on gas turbines and geothermal and nuclear take up to a decade. Buckle up for higher prices and systems crashing.

Trump promised to cut costs. Instead, prices are up—and billionaires are richer. This is the message we’ll be hammering for the next 16 months.

North Carolina Gov. Josh Stein on Trump wanting the states and not FEMA to handle disaster response: "We don't get a huge storm every year. The country does. It doesn't make sense for each state to have a fully staffed emergency response team."

The downsizing of the National Weather Service and the NOAA appears to be part of an effort to privatize the work of such agencies. In several instances, the companies poised to step into the void have deep ties to people tapped by Donald Trump to run weather-related agencies.

It's hilarious that Republicans are going with "Radical Roy"—and "just another DC liberal." Roy has lived in NC his entire life. He's won 4 statewide elections—2 of them while Trump was on the ballot. He's delivered—repeatedly. As Dad would say, "That sh- ain't going to fly."

Literally yesterday, Trump’s FDA Head Marty Makary told CNBC that he doesn’t “know enough” to say whether carbon pollution is a public health risk. washingtonpost.com/climate-enviro…

Jobs are vanishing but at least prices are up. To be fair, the deficit is also spiraling and healthcare and energy costs are spiking this fall. So it’s kind of mixed.

Cancelling an energy project basically right before it’s finished and delivering power to the grid shows that Trump’s energy policy is about creating shortages so that prices go up. I do not wonder why.

Trump’s war on clean energy is corrupt and idiotic, it’s helped drive utility bills up 10% since he came into office, and he is being savaged by everybody.
