Bhutan Takin, VU on the IUCN RL and a lesser studied ungulate of the Himalayas. We collared this male back in 2013 as a part of a movement ecology study led by @UWICER . Described as a weird animal with a goat’s head and a cattle’s body, Takin is the national animal of Bhutan.

We have three volumes of Bhutan's conservation stories. These are stories (that came in Bhutan's print media) related to Bhutan's conservation from 1967. We now have these for sale #Bhutan #conservation #environment #forestry

A straw coloured fruit bat takes off at Kasanka National Park with a new, light weight long term #ICARUS GPS tag. This amazing tech will tell us where these bats migrate & show how important they are to African ecosystems.

Predation attempts in nature are hard to observe - this is a fantastic one that help us calibrate our 3D-acceleration observations on White storks. Be careful walking in tall grass!! focus.de/8909001 via FOCUS online

Just hanging out in Upington airport on the way back from the Kalahari, open up a random airline magazine lying around and it's a feature article on #ICARUSinitiative! It really is global! Migration Dept., Max Planck Inst. Animal Behavior
