Today I attended my final assembly at East Adelaide School. Great to be there for the first school assembly for 2024. Lots of smiles to be back at school from students and teachers alike. Great singing too. ✏️🎓📘

I took my final school tour of the SA Parliament. It was great to have Trinity Garden School Year 6 in. It’s always a pleasure to talk about of democracy, representation, parliament and making laws. Bit sad that it’s my final tour. 😢

Leigh Whicker has spent an incredible two days in the US on the 4th Annual Pyne and Partners #AUKUS Program, with our lobbyist Baker Donelson. It was great to connect with Christopher Pyne and Steven Marshall, President of the American Australian Association.

On 19 May, ASPI USA was delighted to host the 4th annual AUKUS Dialogue in DC—bringing together MPs, Congressional staff, industry leaders, academics, and government officials for a half-day conference filled with lively discussion on moving AUKUS Pillars 1 and 2 forward 🧵

Some key takeaways: 1⃣We need to define deterrence to drive capability. 2⃣Workforce capacity is existential. 3⃣What is Pillar 2 actually trying to solve? 4⃣Pillar 2 needs more than technology—it needs political will. 5⃣Pillar 2 is the strategic lever AUKUS needs now.
