Is there anyone credible out there can explain in simple terms why this isn’t a truly terrifying image? Like, why isn’t this headline news almost every day?

Well, well, well... A so called 'report' by 'think tank' the Social Market Foundation paid for by 4 water companies says that it will cost a total of £90bn to nationalised the industry. Moody’s, one the world's leading company rating agencies says £14.5bn. Surely no govt in

Nobody is forcing this old blowhard to do anything. What is true is that government is no longer paying farmers for being lucky enough to own land. Now, if you want money you have to provide something for it: cleaner land; nature friendly land: or cleaner rivers etc. I love it.

In the following thread, I look at what happened on one Dartmoor common a few years ago when @naturalengland tried to take action to ensure a taxpayer funded £1.4M agri-environment scheme delivered for nature. It’s a sorry tale, but it says a lot about Dartmoor …

Now on College Green - clear message on #BadgerCull - #StopTheCull. I and The Green Party started campaigning against this in 2013. It was unscientific, inhumane and disastrous then. It still is, in nation with #biodiversity in freefall Badger Trust

At the Badger Trust rally to stop the badger cull. The Labour Party has to take this seriously and #StopTheCull now, not after we lose thousands more badgers. (Showing Chris' true height.)

A gut punch for nature-friendly farming from the incoming government as they ⬇️ the budget every farming/environmental organisation has demonstrated needs to be significantly ⬆️ to achieve our legally binding national targets & support farm incomes. theguardian.com/environment/ar…

Wow, I am genuinely surprised that Dartmoor was the third-worst National Park in England and Wales for sewage discharges in 2022. And not much behind Lakes and Eryri ... both of which are bigger. New campaign by Campaign for National Parks ... link below

Regardless of whether you believe glyphosate is good or bad., songbird declines are definitely not down to councils using herbicide in parks and on pavements.

Those hoping a new Government would see a step change in addressing the catastrophic decline of nature are being rapidly disappointed. This is a woeful move, equally frustrating to farmers and environmentalists. theguardian.com/environment/ar…

It's not all in a name The bird-renaming discussion has triggered plenty of strong opinion across the world – but, Mark Avery asks, is it that big a deal? bit.ly/3X2Pomt

Methane from farms/industry/landfill is a massive problem. I've mapped the UK's emissions hotspots but there's a scrap over whether the official gov figures are worth the paper they're written on... theguardian.com/environment/ar… Explore the map: watershedinvestigations.com/home/find-out-…

But it’s been cold this Summer - global warming my bottom! Great bit of #dataviz by Neil Kaye All the blue years were colder than this Summer. This Summer would have been the warmest of the decade in the 1960s. Changing perception of what’s normal.
