Between Wednesday, September 17th, and Sunday, September 21st, the mobile speed enforcement vehicle will be located in the 5700-block of Lucore Road.

Tomorrow (September 17th) is the annual Linn-Mar Homecoming Parade. It will begin at 5:15 pm and will effectively close off several neighborhood streets (see attached map) for an hour or so. Please plan accordingly and/or avoid driving in the area if at all posssible.

As a reminder, the 2025 homcecoming parade will commence at 5:15 pm, this afternoon. If this is your normal route, please be aware that significant traffic congestion is expected (until 6:30 or so) and we will be re-routing all impacted traffic for the duration of the parade.

On Saturday, September 20th, 7th Avenue will be closed between 10th Street and 12th Street for Marion’s Octoberfest. This Uptown closure will begin at 8am and will reopen at approximately 4:00 pm. The event time is scheduled for 11am - 3pm, that day.

Between Tuesday, September 23rd, and Saturday, September 27th, the mobile speed enforcement vehicle will be located in the 1500-block of 50th Street.

Classic Car Show & Shine Sunday, Sept. 28 – Thomas Park, 343 Marion Blvd. Pack a picnic and join the Cedar Rapids Corvette Club for an all-car cruise-in at Thomas Park. A suggested donation will benefit Eastern Iowa Honor Flights. In case of rain, the show will be cancelled.

Between Monday, September 29th, and Friday, October 3rd, the mobile speed enforcement vehicle will be located in the 2700-block of 50th Street, just north of Linn Grove Elementary so speeds should be pretty slow, already.

Yesterday, our officers initiated a traffic stop which resulted in the seizure of over a pound of methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. We're incredibly grateful for their dedication and service and keeping these dangerous drugs off our streets!
