Been working on this cute (?) little creature. Learned a lot making it’s scales in Houdini! Any guesses what it is? Full reveal soon! 👀

Here is the creature I’ve been working on, Hallucigenia sparsa. It lived underwater approx. 505 million years ago! I did some concept color variations in Zbrush, drawing inspiration from modern animals. The one I actually went with is a bit less flashy than these here though.

Rigging update for Hallucigenia! I ended up doing a custom rig in blender, should hopefully cover my needs. Ready to animate!

Qantassaurus update; I ended up doing a full retopo, and reworked a lot of areas. It’s at 50 mil polys when subdivided, a sweet spot where I don’t need hd geometry and it doesn’t slow ZBrush to a crawl. More passes needed before I start with the scales.
