I am saddened to say that Dale Tomich, the gifted scholar of global slavery who pioneered the paradigm-changing idea of the “Second Slavery,” passed away on August 17, 2024. Dale was a smart, kind, gentle, and generous colleague. He will be sorely missed. RIP.
