Okay my favorite iris of all time finally bloomed so it gets its own post!!

Friends, the irises are finally in bloom up at the Highline Botanical Garden and I’m in heaven, this garden is amazing!! A few of the amazing ones. My favorites to come! (Do the first & second ones remind you of the Auroras??!!)

It was almost low tide when I arrived at the marina and since we’re close to summer solstice, it’s getting real low (-1.43!). That means lots of beachfront and critters! Oh, and a peak-a-boo surprise at the end!! 🏔️💗

Hi friends! Today I’m aiming for a peaceful day so I’ve done things that bring me joy: The botanical garden and the marina. I’m delighted to report the irises are in bloom (with so many yet to come). Before then, some other lovely sights.

Remember I showed you the Tatoosh mountains last night? I forgot to show you after the northern lights arrived. So amazing!

Who is ready for round 2??? Here come (maybe) the lights!!

On my way down the mountain last night I was worried because the road is dark and steep and there are critters in the forest. I came around the corner & saw a scared little deer trying to jump across the road. The animals were confused. Thankfully she didn’t jump out!

I had a lot of time before the light show so I wandered around several different trails I hadn’t before. It was awesome! I saw the biggest skunk cabbage I’ve ever seen. Wildflowers are coming to the mountain!!

I have to share the motel I stayed at last night, Whittaker’s Bunkhouse. I’ve mentioned them as a place I stop for coffee. It was cheap, clean and comfortable. If you go to Rainier, I recommend it! And keys, I almost forgot how to use it!!

Before the light show last night, I wandered around Rainier a bit and saw what are likely to be some of the last snowmen of the year⛄️ I love snowmen so it was a great start to the evening!

Good morning friends! I’m still on a high from last night, I still can’t believe it. I have waited my whole life to see the northern lights then for it to happen in my favorite place. Wow, just wow!! The colors were unreal, the red, pink, purple! I am the happiest person today!

Welcome to the best day of the week! Friday was unreal, the best day ever. I am so exhausted and cold so I’m sharing a teaser with more to come tomorrow. I can’t believe what I got to see tonight! Today’s lesson, never ever give up on your dreams!!
