Heartfelt + visually brilliant work by Lujain Jo | لُجين ج for The Associated Press on #Iraq 20 years after the devastating #US invasion youtube.com/watch?v=ohP41d…

We lost Arman Soldin today (right of pic). A brave and tenacious journalist + a helluva friend. I’ll never forget driving into Ukraine with him on the 2nd day of the invasion. My thoughts are with his family and those he inspired along his way 🙏 He was one of a kind.

BEIRUT - Amnesty International/Human Rights Watch press conference tomorrow unveiling findings on the 13 Oct Israeli attack on journalists which killed Reuters journalist Issam Abdallah and injured six others. 📍As-Safir Building, Hamra 🕚 11am, Thursday 7 December #JusticeforIssam

“Our job is to tell the story, not to become it,” said Dylan Collins, who was with the team of journalists when attacked, at the Human Rights Watch press conference.

At joint press conference, @HRW says the Israel Defense Forces knew it was targeting civilians on Oct 13 in southern Lebanon, that journalists were “in line of sight” of Israeli surveillance towers.

They knew “I think from the moment that we arrived, the Israelis knew we were there. We were exposed to several Israeli positions along the border, to the west and the east. They had drones there the entire time, they could probably see our faces,” Dylan Collins said

An AFP News Agency Airwars investigation confirmed that an Israeli attack on October 13th killed Reuters videographer Issam Alabdallah and injured several other journalists from Aljazeera, AFP, and Reuters. This 3D model was made to explain the geography and chronology of the strike.

One of the men arrested in this video is our colleague Al-Araby Correspondent Diaa Kahlot, along with his family, who are most definitely not members of Hamas. He and other captives were stripped naked in the street and taken to an unknown location. Journalism is not a crime!
