This week, Neptune class have been studying a wordless picture book called “The Island” by Mark Janssen. With a little help from @MrsWOfficial and a collaborative word bank, we created these word waiter poems. What ambitious vocabulary! Adrian Ball Diocese of Ely Multi-Academy Trust
Why use Latin to improve literacy instead of English? MaximumClassics explains "you give the kids a toolkit for understanding words. If you know magnus means great, you understand 'magnitude' and 'magnified'... and why magnum ice creams are too big to have before your tea!"

We've thoroughly enjoyed our #PlatinumJubileeCelebrations in school this week. What impressive work! Classics for All would be very proud 👌🏽
Hi Anna Fargher my class are LOVING your new book. They would love to know how many words it is. We are challenging ourselves to see how many words we can read this year. Thanks :)

To complement our history learning, Neptune have had a fantastic Roman themed day today. Artefact handling, Julius Caesar investigation and learning about life in the Roman army. What an amazing day of learning! Diocese of Ely Multi-Academy Trust Adrian Ball
This afternoon Neptune used string telephones to investigate how sound travels. We discovered that sound travels much better when the string is tight than when it is baggy and also that sound doesn’t travel so well when the string is touching something. Diocese of Ely Multi-Academy Trust Adrian Ball
