Grad student Dani Keahi studies the role of DNA repair in preventing medulloblastoma, the most common pediatric brain cancer. Her focus is on how developing brain cells are vulnerable to DNA damage and the pathways that protect them from becoming cancerous. #AAPIHeritageMonth

Over the moon about my postdoc work ⁦Science Magazine⁩ ! Ever wonder about how mammalian cells selectively degrade unwanted nuclear proteins without involving ubiquitination? Check out our paper on a non-canonical protein degradation mechanism! science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…

Writing a manuscript (or two 😉) from pure scratch after a few years… needless to say I’ve taken quite a few walks around the lab and campus to ummm… think (procrastinate). Anyways, stay tuned 📊📈💻

A reminder that the abundance of 'house keeping' proteins varies significantly across cells and tissues. GAPDH (glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase) is often slandered a 'house keeping' protein, and its abundance varies significantly across human tissues.

Very saddened to hear of Judy’s passing. I had the incredible opportunity to collaborate with Judy during my PhD. Judy was nothing short of an extraordinary scientist that shaped the field of aging & senescence to be what it is today. A true pioneer and champion in science.
