A week back ‘home’ in North Scotland. Osprey’s fishing amongst the Sandwich terns. Waking up to the wink wink of pinkies. Four species of divers. Eagles. Good food. Sun, sea, sand and mountains 🧡

It might be a chilly one, but 🤞 we have some species to show you tomorrow. Maybe those who have woolly coats like this muslin moth. We'll have a warm welcome, warming treats in the cafe and our heated hide so you can still spend time with nature 😊

Highlights: bar-tailed godwit, black-tailed godwit, avocet, garganey, swallow, sedge warbler, Cetti's warbler.

Cafe open from 9am daily.
Reserve open to all from 10am (members only until 10am).

Highlights so far are spoonbill flyover, garganey pairs, goldeneye, great crested grebes displaying, black-tailed godwits displaying.
Everyone can access Main hide, Nelson-Lyle hide and BING trail, wellies advised for Lyle.

Welney is buzzing with birdlife 🤩

Black-tailed godwits are returning to breed WWT Welney and other wetland sites around the Fens. If you spot birds with leg rings, look out for individuals with a lime coloured E as one of the rings. These were headstarted by Project Godwit and all sightings gratefully received.

Wow, just look at those skies, some fantastic wildlife to spot too. Highlights so far this Easter weekend little gull, garganey, cattle egret, black-tailed godwit, avocet, ruff, curlew, goldeneye and otter.
