How does foreign aid benefit Africa when after decades of investment these nations have become poorer & increasingly dependent on assistance that handicaps the economy, preventing local growth? Mind you DRC is the #1 richest country in the world for natural resources worth $54T!

FYI: Ireland just approved Basic Income for Artists which provides a weekly payment of €325 (approximately €1,388 per month) to eligible artists and creative workers. Better treatment for artists IS possible.

Two things can be true at once. Corrupt government within and predatory self-interested neighboring countries can both be the source of decades long exploitation of the DRC. Both are motivated by the spoils of foreign aid and partnerships that serve their political parties

I can now speak at a conversational level French & Spanish, at an incredibly basic level sign language. My father referred to me as a polyglot today & I hadn’t even realized how my efforts have been paying off. I suggest immersion through media & manual translation to best learn
