An astonishing 18 members of staff at Livingstone Brown - myself included - are taking part in the Great Scottish 10k run to raise money for St Andrew’s Hospice. It would be great to raise a decent amount for this wonderful charity. Please help if you can justgiving.com/fundraising/li…

We were delighted to act for the petitioner in this important and anxious case. The court held that a local authority failed to properly consider the impact that closing a care centre would have on its vulnerable users. bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotla…

At last - the first Post Office Horizon conviction overturned in Scotland. Susan Sinclair, convicted after trial in April 2004, finally secured justice today at the Court of Criminal Appeal in Edinburgh. #PostOfficeScandal Livingstone Brown

Susan Sinclair is delighted that the court has granted her appeal and quashed her conviction.  This is the first such successful appeal in Scotland. She should never have been accused of any wrongdoing, far less convicted.

Lessons must be learnt from this national scandal to ensure that these events never happen again.  But we also need answers on why it has taken so long to get to this point, four years after the High Court in England issued a damning verdict on the Horizon computer system.

Hugely significant day in London, making submissions to the Post Office Horizon IT inquiry. Our focus was on the experience of those wrongly convicted in Scotland, which the chair recognised as ‘very important’. #PostOfficeInquiry

Our Employment Department is looking for a new assistant solicitor, with enthusiasm, a willingness to learn, and an appetite for advocacy. NQ level to two years. Mix of claimant & respondent work, mostly private fee, with a considerable number of Tribunals.

We also appear before professional and regulatory bodies. The ideal candidate will have some employment experience, will be able to work on their own initiative but also as part of a team, and will be comfortable with new technology (including social media).
