I would like us to stay calibrated regarding #COVID19: Taiwan (pop. 23.5M) has had 447 cases and 7 deaths. If the US had performed that well we would have (for 329M people) 6.2k cases and 98 deaths. We should keep reminding ourselves that success against the virus is possible!

Travis county (Austin) has ~2.8k active cases. Assuming (per CDC) that we’re only catching ~10% of active cases, that’s ~28k total. Out of ~1.3M Travis county pop, that means #COVID19 infection rate in Austin is ~2.2%, or 1 out of every 45 people. kxan.com/news/texas/wha…
