I wish this also meant I finally could learn how to curl, and combine my love of ice and geology... in a postpandemic world, it's on the roster!

What is your go-to field laptop? We've been Panasonic Toughbook folks for years, but I'm exploring options (e.g. ThinkPad T-series) and would love to hear what others use!

9 years. Over 70 crevasses blown up and filled in along the traverse route from McMurdo Station to the South Pole. My life’s work. #Antarctica #southpoletraverse #CRREL

As a climate scientist, I’m not sure what to make of epidemiologists who seem genuinely shocked and appalled that government policy is not aligned with their science...

Low snow, temperatures > +5°C, and bare, melting ice in APRIL, all made for a challenging spring field season, but I'm so thankful we were able to make it up to White Glacier this year. Thanks to the NRC Canada PCSP team & Kenn Borek Air for making it possible! #FieldWorkFriday

So what did the #heatdome do to glaciers on the Columbia Icefield? Here's European Space Agency Sentinel2 images from 21 June - 1 July, 2021 (843 composite) of Stutfield Peak (3400 m ) and Saskatchewan Glacier. Snowlines rose by 130-250 m. We haven't even started 'normal' glacier melt season!

Happy #NunavutDay! I feel so grateful for privilege of being a guest in this beautiful territory for a few months each year to do our work at White Glacier on Axel Heiberg Island. Here's to many more! #FieldworkFriday

It's #CoP26 . Time to remind our policy makers that 👏 every emitted kg of CO2 today 👏 will eventually be responsible for a glacier mass loss of 16 kg 👏 In other words, the emissions from aviation in a single year (pre-covid) suffices to melt the equivalent of Aletsch Glacier
