Principle 1/8: All cites 🏙 are linked to a surrounding area, such as a peri-urban area or a whole polycentric region. They are strongly connected by a daily flow of people 🚉🚌🚴‍♀️🚗 and goods 🚚🚆📦. An effective SUMP needs to consider the whole functional urban area.💡

🤝2/8: A successful #SUMP development requires a high degree of collaboration between different levels of government and between institutions. Cooperate with policies and plans, exchange with relevant authorities and coordinate with public and private sector providers.👩‍💻👨‍💼👩‍⚖️👨‍🎓👮‍♂️

📣Principle 3/8: Cities 🏙 are for people🧍‍♀️🧍‍♂️. You should bear this in mind when developing a SUMP, taking a transparent and participatory approach💬. Involve citizens and stakeholders actively in the whole process, meet their needs and gain their acceptance and support.👍

Principle 4/8: What is your current situation? What capacities and resources do you have?🕐🙋‍♀️💶💡 A review of your status✅, an evaluation of the transport system🔎 and the establishment of a baseline against which to measure📏your progress📈are key aspects of a #SUMP process.👍

Principle 5/8: What city do we want for our children? 🏙👨‍👧‍👦 The basis of any #SUMP is a convincing long-term vision 💭for mobility. To make it become reality, a SUMP then needs to break it down into clear targets 🎡and measures, also specifying short-term implementation. 🛴🚲🌳🌏

ein wichtiger Faktor ist die Führung neben Parkenden Autos, was das Sicherheitsgefühl deutlich verringert, besonders, wenn der Radstreifen schmal ist.

Poller und andere bauliche Trennungen führen zu einem deutlich besseren Sicherheitsgefühl, die Einführung von Protected Bikelanes scheint also der richtige Weg zu sein. Es gibt aber je nach Situation auch noch andere Möglichkeiten ein hohes Sicherheitsempfinden zu erreichen.

z.B. durch eine breiten Radstreifen mit Grünmarkierung und Sperrfläche (ohne Parken rechts) oder durch die Führung im Seitenraum.

Erstaunlich, auch Autofahrende bewerten die Situation mit Pollern als sicherer.
