Interesting a large insurance company wants more business w/ Medicare and less w/ employers. Re arthroplasty, worry this translates to Pt's having less access and fewer choices while surgeons are squeezed further for profit? I will be starting a GoFundMe account to help the poor and probably hungry surgeons at Mayo so that they might be able to pay their research assistants. #sendingthoughtsandprayers #alsotriscuits #orthotwitter

I think the reasons underlying how we got here are complex but we need to do better which will require appreciation of the problem and investment from the top (societies, hospitals, departments) down (surgeons, researchers, students).

Statistician here. You should not control for all relevant variables. For instance, sexism is a relevant variable but controlling for sexism would be a terrible idea.

Thank you Arthroplasty Today for highlighting our study. Many factors can guide stem selection, but I found Dr. Duncan's experience helpful when considering my own transition to selective use of this stem which appears to be forgiving re optimal sizing intra-op. Combining Figs 3 & 4:

Thanks! Still more to learn such as which markers/thresholds best identify high risk Pt’s and how modification reduces risks, assuming it does? exciting but need to balance optimization w/ timely care and not burdening our system… this may underlie labs not being ordered more?

Awesome article! There is increasing evidence to support greater consideration of this liner option in select patients… pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31678018/ Connor King MD

The Spring Meeting was a great experience and something I'd recommend others consider attending! To learn more, Dr. Polkowski did a great job of describing the meetings and its origins in this podcast.

Thanks Jason Strelzow, MD for getting me involved and CORR for publishing our work. Survey fatigue will be an increasing issue in the future. This type of work can hopefully help us be judicious and targeted with intake screenings to help guide patients to their best health.
