Equine rotations are slowly making me fall in love with equine work (no-one, especially me expected this!).. Also, it's a reminder that rhino are basically giant horses and it would give me the option to maybe work with those daft beasts again

Yesterday on rotations, my PTSD won. It hasn't in ages.. I lasted 2 consults before going home Today I did a ½ day to find my feet and got good feedback from the vet + a lovely compliment from clients on both knowledge + cat skills 🐈‍⬛ It's a reminder bad days are just that 💛

Got accepted today to do my abattoir OV certificate next summer after rotations finish!! Should be a good 2 weeks - and that's definitely one way to ensure I know my anatomy, parasites and diseases (plus HACCP and everything else) before graduating!

BCE at A-level.. Mature entry (23) to Uni - 1st class BSc in Bioveterinary Science.. Now a final year vet student at 31 Just because things don't go to plan at 18, doesn't mean they won't eventually and you can't be capable of academic success!

#WorldMentalHealthDay I've had the best week on VetEd EMS at Uni - really, enjoying every day Yet it's my first week back after 3wks off for a PTSD relapse that I truly thought would hospitalise me again at points.. It's ok if today is a struggle.. Tomorrow can be better 💛

Just finished farm selective rotation.. now moving onto anaesthesia in a referral hospital🙃 My need for reading/ revision has just quadrupled and it feels like any brain cells I had have vanished! Very happy that I'm back in farm/ pathology for another 6 weeks very soon

Think I may have actually enjoyed day 1, despite picking weird cases... (although anyone that knows me, knows I wouldn't get anything else 😅)

Heading into wk2 on anaesthesia rotation + enjoying it much more than I expected! Just checked cases for tomorrow + very happy I've been assigned a cat again - got moved onto one last week followed by well we love cats 😊 Although did manage to intubate a GSD in lateral Friday!

4 weeks of vet school left... and this is the point I choose to start Grey's Anatomy😅

So in a move no-one saw coming, I may have fallen in love with equine medicine with 2 weeks of vet school left... I'm genuinely considering equine internships - any advice from anyone that's been there? Or any info on seasonal foaling work in NZ/ Aus! #vettwitter #vetstudent

Not sure which friends are still on here but #vettwitter have been a massive support for years, from applying, to struggling with MH issues and the wins! Today I found out that despite it all, I passed.. I'm a vet!! It's been a long road and I'm a little proud to be here💛🩺🐾

Thursday I graduated University of Bristol and was admitted into Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons as a vet!! It's been a journey from VCA to biovet student to vet school, but at 32 I can finally say I did it! A huge thank you to everyone that played a part 💛 Now off to Yorkshire as a smallies + equine vet 🩺🎓

One of those days whereI have so many little tasks to do... and procrastination is so, so high! Mainly moving, old job and new job tasks...
