God resists the proud. In Luke 18, Jesus tells of two men praying. The 1st exalts himself, and the 2nd asks for mercy from his sins and is justified. God will raise up the humble and cast down the proud. We all need to ask for forgiveness. There is freedom in humility for Christ.
