This week we welcome students from KTH Royal Institute of Technology who are doing their field work as a part of the Applied Ecology course. Here, they’ll learn how to apply ecological knowledge to address major environmental challenges like global warming and biodiversity loss.

The REDRESS & DIGI4ECO Summer school organized by Prof Laurenz Thomsen (UGOT) at the Kristineberg Center is ongoing this week. More than 20 students are working together and are learning new approaches and innovative solutions to monitor the #biodiversity of deep-sea ecosystems!👏

This week I have had the opportunity to assist Elena Tamarit with one of her PhD projects Kristineberg Center. Elena & her crew have been catching local juvenile flatfish & examining growth/thermal tolerance under varying temperatures. She is interested primarily in heat waves 🌡️

Seahorse found near Kristineberg! Discovered during a fish collection exercise at the Kristineberg Centre. This marks only the third recorded seahorse sighting in Swedish waters and the first within a research context. Read more: gu.se/en/news/seahor…
