Starting my Wednesday with some morning math vocab walks to see all the beautiful vocabulary that is posted and being sued by students in our math classes! So proud of our teachers and the work they are doing to ensure strikers have the visual support needed to thrive!

Our science vertical alignment today had special visitor Julie Jackson who trained our science teachers on an interactive vocabulary word wall!!!

The 2nd Annual Loteria Night to raise money for our Mendez scholarship was a hit! Families could stop by the gym for some family fun after connecting with their teachers. It was a great night to be a striker. 🐍

This is our 4th school year going strong with this rhythm at Mendez. Teachers celebrating kids at their homes… it’s something that I am just so grateful for. We found a way to systematize home visits in a joyful & meaningful way.

The best way to gauge others’ values isn’t to ask them directly. It’s to see who they respect. Shallow people are impressed by superficiality. They look up to beauty, fame, money & power. Deep people are drawn to substance. They admire wisdom, kindness, creativity & integrity.

This week in Fashion Design club we designed our own shoes! I love seeing the creativity coming out during our Striker innovation hour! Mendez Elementary

Every Friday, Mendez Elementary holds Striker Innovation Hour, in which students spend an hour engaged in their interests, everything from Google Earth Club, to Gardening Club, to Cosmetology Club, to Animal Lovers Club and so much more! Great way to wrap up a great week!
