Found a horn of sorts on eBay.... soon enough I'll be able to enjoy a band that usually gives me a bunch of angst

Just messing around a bit with the BladeRF again while I wait for some stuff to arrive....

This S/C-Band horn is a rather neat thing (it's pretty big but surprisingly light)

Bypassed the IF low-pass filter section of my X-Band LNB today.... should push the upper end up to about 8.2GHz... next up will be to shorten some of the elements of the RF filter to get up to DSN territory

Tested the modification I made today to some extent since I had a pretty good AQUA pass lined up. Obviously not decodable through the roof but it's something :P

Jeez, the idle frames from GOES-16 on it's raw data downlink sure are loud. 📡

I feel like I could really hurt someone with this assembly

Thinking about making another e*X*pedition this weekend to record a bunch of X-Band sats with a clear view of the sky for a change. Going to have to check and see how strong GOES-16's raw downlink is, and I need to check out Stereo-A obviously

Alright, my life should be easier when it comes to SDR related stuff w/ Linux on my desktop PC.... Proton has matured enough where I can reasonably play almost any video game.

Something sexy arrived today.

A larger dish sure can work some wonders.... DSCS III-B6 (USA 170) sure was nice and loud the other day on it's X-Band beacon! Also working on some Ka-Band shenanigans with the dish as well.... so stay *tuned* ;)
