ICYMI last night, this is the craziest story I’ve ever reported by a mile and also the weirdest baseball story I’ve heard in a long time.

This isn't shocking, but I don't think many fans realize this rebuild is limited by something else. Even though the White Sox are on pace for the most losses since 1899 (!), the White Sox can't pick higher than 10th in next year's draft, due to anti-tanking measures in the CBA.

With the 4th inning of tonight's start complete, Nate Eovaldi now has a player option for next season at $20 million due to throwing 300 innings over the last two seasons. I would guess he opts out this winter and gets multiple years, but it's nice to have that money guaranteed.
