this isn’t to say that i won’t be a support system for my friends. i love my friends and i adore them, but when that support becomes the only thing you reach out for, that’s when the foundation feels off. like do you love me or do you love what I can do for you?

i've legit fell out with people because once i started distancing myself to take care of needs i was “selfish” and “mean”.

You want people to value your presence not just your help. When they only reach out for support but ignore you otherwise, it feels like you're being used. Your worth is more than just being a support system. You deserve better set boundaries if needed, it's necessary not selfish
