The secret to getting kids reading is the same thing that worked in the nineties. Reading Rainbow. Free pizzas. Shakespeare rom-coms. A million Jane Austen adaptations. Movies where a guy gifts his beloved an enormous library. Dog who acts out the classics.

Millennials grew up loving books because the culture made an effort to make books seem cool. Celebrities read books. The baddies in films quoted Shakespeare. Every Sunday night there was a new miniseries of Jules Verne or Lewis Carroll. Bring back reading culture.

For millions, our first exposure to Dickens was the Muppet Christmas Carol. Nowadays studios are afraid to greenlight classics adaptations for kids because they assume kids will think them boring. But that misses the point: if you make it fun, kids will love it.

Presenting my new profiling tool for the Sega #Dreamcast! The screen of its 8-bit Visual Memory Unit, when plugged into the controller, displays debug frame information and resource utilization statistics in real-time! It's monitoring FPS, SH4 CPU system RAM utilization, PVR GPU

Someone else said: “Art Nouveau is when it looks made by elves. Art Deco is when it looks made by dwarves.” And after looking into it, I think they’re a genius and 100% correct.

Fun fact: I was looking to buy this PCB when my friend convinced me to check out MiSTer FPGA instead. When I bought it I didn't realize the X-Men core didn't exist yet but I've been patiently waiting.

vx-underground Well, we've kind of gotten out of the "here is all our internal stuff" business, as the advantages of being completely transparent and open are diminishing in the modern world. But here's a shot of a set of modern petaboxes:

Guess what's back. Yes, archive.org and openlibrary.org are back, as well as web.archive.org (Wayback Machine) and all those amazing items. Some of the features are not up yet, but rest assured we're working on it and our tired devs will prevail.
