I’ve been wallowing in an album by San Francisco band Rupa & The April Fishes called eXtraOrdinary rendition, & it is exactly as titled, a fabulous soup of Brecht, Chanson, Jazz, Pogues, Mariachi, circus music and fuck knows what else. Had us dancing & smiling all over the place.

Just heard that Paddy Moloney passed away. Extraordinary, talented man and the heart of The Chieftains. I was lucky enough to film him a few times and get to know him a bit. He lived for music, all kinds of music. Sometimes it felt like he was made of it. RIP Paddy.
