Great to be back in Inuvik for a bilateral meeting with the Gwich’in Tribal Council. We had a packed agenda, and I want to thank Ken Kyikavichik and the GTC for the insightful conversations on many important issues. #nwtpoli

This is Frank Gruben reciting the Lord’s Prayer in Gwich’in from 2 years ago. Frank has been missing for over 2 months now in or near Fort Smith, NT. It is our hope that we learn or understand what has happened to Frank soon. #JusticeForFrank m.facebook.com/story.php?stor…

One of my mentors during my teenage years. Ken Laviolette of Fort Smith, NT - better known as “Outlaw”. A local business owner who has maintained his Indigenous ways and values while being outspoken for his people at the Salt River First Nation.

Hai’ (thanks) going out to all fire fighters and those working to keep roads open, create fire breaks, protect property, check on homes and people in the NWT along with those who are supporting evacuation centres in the Yukon and Alberta.

It is heartwarming to see and hear all of the kindness being shown this week in Alberta to those evacuating from the NWT. From free gas, meals, discounted hotel rooms, donations, people opening up their homes and farms - it is all so appreciated! Mahsi (thanks) #grateful

I was voted in 2020 to be the Grand Chief of our Nation to oversee and if required - protect our assets. I will continue to bring truth and transparency to our organization until my term is up in the summer of 2024.

It’s the money and the demand for drugs that brings this violence into our communities. Those that have loved ones engaged in these behaviours don’t help by continuing to make excuses for them. These dealers like to hide in plain sight. Good job RCMP for taking courageous action!

Designated Gwich’in organizations could face an RCMP investigation after a forensic audit said by Grand Chief Ken Kyikavichik to show financial mismanagement. cabinradio.ca/150474/news/po…

This week, we were reminded that the heartbreaking legacy of residential schools continues to live on to this day. Our collaborative work through the Yukon Forum to advance reconciliation and our shared priorities remains as important as ever.

Disappointing that this was rushed through this Legislative Assembly for political reasons. Despite advocating for public engagement and how this would immediately address discrimination of Indigenous residents in the NWT accessing programs and services, it was ultimately ignored

The accident in Fort Smith yesterday is a traumatic event that I know the community will be banding together to get through. It is a resilient town made up of individuals and families who don’t give up. K’egwaadhat Nakhwah Vili’ (God Bless You All)

I attended the opening of the Northern Games and Dene Games Summit in Inuvik last night. It’s going to be a good week of learning and completion for the over 140 young athletes in the community
