I don't think I have a high IQ (I'm terrible at test-taking), and, judging by the behaviour of folk who claim to have one, I wouldn't want one.

I particularly hate those tests where you have to say what the next number in a sequence is. It could be anything! Here's an example -- a simple principle but not easy to find: 3, 3, 5, 4, 4, 3 . . . What's the answer?

Recommendations for literary texts on self-doubt/re-assembling + disassembling the self? Particularly in times on general uncertainty and peril? Not the Bildungsroman, but something more mature, about mature doubt and self-(un)fashioning.
